I really think forum is a good way for the community to keep going i.e. you could start some threads and have people posting in japanese? That'll be a good way to improve on the language. Also maybe photos from Japan, by members who have been there and we could learn the culture and stuff. But that's just my humble opinion.

Those things can be done with the features available in JCJP.
For people to post in Japanese, they can use the bulletin feature.
and for people who wants to post photos, they can use photo features.
Actually, my point of implementing those features was for those purposes. However, currently, only few people are using those features for that purpose.
I think the problem here can be the establishment of those features, not that many people know why those features are there. I just put them there without explaining anything about those features.
because of the availability of these features, I think that forum is not that necessary. Though those features are not that perfect yet.
